A story published today by the
Toledo Blade informed the community of a local beef recall in response to three Lucas
County residents having contracted a strain of E. coli through contaminated
meat from a distribution company in the state of Michigan. The recent
cases are linked to an E. coli outbreak that has affected 11 people from
Ohio and Michigan.
On Monday, the company that distributed the meat began a local beef recall
of approximately 1.8 million pounds of ground beef products.
